S1-S6

Do these steps toinstall the S1-S6 borescope plugs:

(a) Apply a lightlayer of grease, D00601 [CP2101], pure nickel special compound, D50034[CP2619] or milk ofmagnesia compound, D50032 [CP1064] to the threads and to the friction surfaces of theplug.

(b) Install theplugs in the compressor case.

1) Tighten the plugto 57 in-lb (6.4 N_m)-63 in-lb (7.1 N_m).

(c) Put safetywire,G02345 [CP8001] or cable, G50065 [CP8006] on the plugs.

S7-S9

Do these steps toinstall the S7-S9 borescope plugs:

(a) Before youinstall the S7-S9 borescope plugs, make sure the inner borescope port is open as follows:

1) Put thecompressor borescope tool in the borescope port (Figure 606).

(b) Apply a light layer of these lubricants tothe borescope plug assembly as follows:

1) Apply pure nickelspecial compound, D50034 [CP2619], grease, D00601 [CP2101] or milk of magnesiacompound, D50032 [CP1064] to the threads and mating surfaces on the inner plug.

2) Apply grease,D00601 [CP2101], pure nickel special compound, D50034 [CP2619] or milk of magnesiacompound, D50032 [CP1064] to the threads of the outer plug.

(c) Install theborescope plug in the applicable borescope port and tighten as follows:

1) Tighten the innerplug to 76 in-lb (8.6 N_m)-84 in-lb (9.5 N_m).

2) Loosen the innerplug by one-quarter turn.

3) Tighten the innerplug again to the run-on torque plus 15 in-lb (1.7 N_m)-20 in-lb (2.26 N_m).

4) Push the outerplug to engage the threads in the compressor case.

a) Tighten the outerplug by hand.

5) Tighten the outerplug to 57 in-lb (6.4 N_m)-63 in-lb (7.1 N_m).

a) Attach all threeouter plugs together with cable, G50065 [CP8006] or safetywire,G02345 [CP8001].

S10-S11

The port for the 4:00 o’clock main igniter plug isreferred to as the S10 borescope port.

The port for the 8:00 o’clock main igniter plug isreferred to as the S11 borescope port.

S12-S15

Do these steps toinstall the borescope plugs:

(a) Lubricate thethreads of the borescope plugs with pure nickel special compound, D50034[CP2619], milk ofmagnesia compound, D50032 [CP1064] or grease, D00601 [CP2101].

(b) Install theborescope plugs.

1) Tighten eachborescope plug to 57-63 pound-inches (6.4-7.1 Newton-meters).

2) Installsafetywire, G02345 [CP8001] or cable, G50065 [CP8006] on each borescope plug.

S16-S17

(6) Torque the plugs to 57 in-lb (6.4 N_m)-63 in-lb (7.1N_m).

(a) Install safetywire, G02345 [CP8001] or cable, G50065[CP8006].

(7) Torque plugs S16 and S17 to 57 in-lb (6.4 N_m)-63 in-lb (7.1N_m).

(a) Install safetywire, G02345 [CP8001] or cable, G50065[CP8006] on the borescope plugs.

(8) Torque theself-locking borescope caps assembly to 50 in-lb (5.6 N_m)-55 in-lb (6.2 N_m).

NOTE: To achieve thecorrect installation of the self-locking borescope cap assembly, the slot of its ring must bepositioned on the borescope boss lug at the final tightening.

S18-S20

(4) Do these stepsto install the borescope plugs:

(a) Apply grease,D00601 [CP2101] or pure nickel special compound, D50034 [CP2619] or milk of magnesiacompound, D50032 [CP1064] to the threads and friction surfaces of the borescope plugs S16,S17, S18, S19 and S20.

(b) Install S16 andS17 on the combustion case.

(c) Install S18,S19, and S20 on the LPT case.

(5) Do these stepsto install the borescope plugs:

(a) Apply grease,D00601 [CP2101] or pure nickel special compound, D50034 [CP2619] or milk of magnesiacompound, D50032 [CP1064] to the threads and friction surfaces of the borescope plugs S16and S17.

(b) Install S16 andS17 on the combustion case.

(c) Apply grease,D00601 [CP2101] or pure nickel special compound, D50034 [CP2619] or milk of magnesiacompound, D50032 [CP1064] to the threads of the self-locking borescope cap assembly S18, S19and S20.
