10) Do these steps to install the bolt [13] (View C, Figure 401):
(a) Install the bolt [13] with the head forward.
(b) Install the washer and nut.
(c) BOLTS WITH FOUR COTTER PIN HOLES;
Measure and record self-locking torque of nut.
NOTE: The self-locking torque should be between 90 in-lb (10.2 N—m) to 800 in-lb
(90.4 N—m).
1) Add 50 in-lb (5.6 N—m) to 100 in-lb (11.3 N—m) to the measured self-locking torque.
NOTE: This is the installation torque.
2) Install the cotter pin.
(d) BOLTS WITH EIGHT COTTER PIN HOLES
Tighten the nut to 1200 ±600 in-lb (135.6 ±67.8 N—m) lube torque and install cotter pin.
NOTE: Make sure the installation torque is within the range.
(e) BOLTS WITH ONE COTTER PIN HOLE;
Tighten the nut to 960 ±120 in-lb (108.5 ±13.6 N—m) lube torque.
1) Loosen the nut and tighten it again to 90 ±30 in-lb (10.2 ±3.4 N—m) lube torque.
2) Install the cotter pin.
NOTE: If it is necessary, loosen the nut to the nearest castellation to align the hole
for the cotter pin. Zero torque is permitted when you do this.
