1 - DESCRIPTION
This offer proposes a full CompDRILL device for composite and Aluminium/Titanium + composite drilling
developed by CapAero.
For your Company, the Kit will include
- 1 CompDRILL device;
- A drilling machine 700 rpm/min
- A drilling machine 6000 rpm/min
- 2 reduced tripod with plastic support.
- 2 wide tripod with plastic support
- 8 drill guides
- 1 suction device to connect to your main suction unit
- Specific cutting tools for each diameter
- A user manual
- A Pelican Box

CAPAERO
1.1 – CompDRILL unit with suction device
The CompDRILL device allows drilling composite components without delamination. It allows to drill a full
assembly with composite + metal (Titanium or Aluminium) without delamination on the back face.
Our CompDRILL is delivered with cutting tools developed for this application in the way to guarantee to
delamination onto the composite component.
The fixation of the CompDRILL onto the driller is done with a quick connection. In this way it is easy to
change from the 2 driller equipment (700 rpm and 6000 rpm).
A suction unit is delivered with the CompDRILL. It allows collecting residues coming from the drilling, and
especially the carbon dust.
The customer should connect his main suction unit to the CompDRILL suction device.
1.2 – Drillers
The CompDRILL unit is connected to a driller unit for drilling and reaming operation.
The kit includes 2 drilling machine with 2 different speeds.
The user manual shows how to manage the 2 drilling tools.
1.3 – Tripods
We developed 2 kinds of tripods, depending on the accessibility.
The first one is a reduced tripod for a smallest contact onto the part. The second one is a larger one for
better contact.
We propose onto the kit 1 tripod of each reference.
1.4 – Drilling guide
Each drilling guide will have a specific indent in the way to evacuate the metal shavings
1.5 – Drilling bits
With the CompDRILL we developed cutting tools.
For carbon application, one drill bit can drill 30 holes.
Each reference will be integrated into a color single box.
For A350 we will deliver the total drill bits for each kit
1.6 – Carbon plate
This carbon plate allows realizing pre-drill before to go onto the Aircraft structure.
