ES-291是为机载应用而设计的一种高精度GPS时码发生器，输出的IRIG-B码可以同步视频、音频和数据记录器。它接收到GPS的时间和日期信息后，输出IRIG-B和ASCII (RS-232C)格式的时码，输出两路1PPS信号和GPS“锁定”输出。它可以同时跟踪12颗卫星,但是只要收到一颗卫星信号就可以输出时码信号。

The ES-291 is a very accurate GPS Time Code Generator. The unit receives time and date information from Global Positioning System satellites and outputs IRIG-B and ASCII (RS-232C) Time Codes. Two (2) One Pulse Per Second outputs and a GPS "Lock" output are also standard features. A twelve-channel receiver is employed that is capable of tracking up to twelve (12) satellites simultaneously, although reception of only one is required for time data to be output. Several options are available.
